details...

Okay, so B pointed out to me that our "search" for the perfect Craftsman home lasted all of about a week, but that's just a technicality ;) Actually, I think we're on a continuous and lifelong search for our dream Craftsman bungalow, but what we found will do just fine for now.

We hope to close next Monday on the house, which is a brick bungalow built in 1928. It's been remodeled, most recently in 2007 by the current owner, as well as gradually and over the years by various owners. Most notably might be the 1968 era bathroom (or at least, that's the year on the bottom of the cast iron tub when you look up from the basement...should there be boards there?!) which has light green 4" square tiles all over, with some pretty scary white tile edging that has a twisted appearance. But overall, we're pretty happy with it. There's some original wood trim in the living room and dining room, although it's been painted white. We hope to restore what's been taken away, and bring it back to how it probably looked when first built.

Once we sign the papers, I'll post photos...!
