We took the girls to
Scott Antique Market last month, and they found a great bargain on their first visit--a Craftsman-style library table! The asking price was $120 (not bad) but the girls (and Daddy) managed to talk them down to $90! Brandon's been working on it a little at a time, doing a few small repairs and sanding it down to restain and put a coat of polyurethane on it.

Brandon's found a few minutes to work on our new front door. You might remember
this one from many months ago...it's the new cedar door we bought. He's working to fill in a few big knotholes, and once we get glass for it and the hinges on...and a coat of poly...it will be good to go.

Great score on that table! Love the door.
Nice table. Are you going to share any pictures of the house? We have a 1928 Craftsman and I am looking for good ideas on how to update it but keep the original look and feel. What's really getting to me right now is that we have no patio and so I'm doing some research to find out what would be appropriate ... I don't want a deck, the yard is tiny as it is. any thoughts, links, etc. would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
If you scroll halfway down the page, on the right is a bunch of links under "view our progress (photos)" and it will take you to lots of photos as we worked on the house. We've kind of slowed down work on the house since the twins were born, but hope to get back into the swing of things soon.
We have contemplated a patio as well, but it will be based as much on budget as Craftsman style, I think. We'd like something in brick or stone, however, to keep with the style of the house.
Our house doesn't have a lot of its original stuff left, and it was a little more working-class than some homes from the same time, I think (such as the homes in Westview).
