long time no see

It's been a while since I posted about the house.  We've been working hard as usual, but have some bittersweet news to share.  We've decided to put 1928 Bungalow up for sale.  We're not really sure where we're headed next, so we'll trying to adjust to the idea of renting for a while until we figure it out.  We've done so much work on the house and the yards over the last five years, but we can only hope that the next owner will love it as much as we have.

I'll be updating as we go along but thought I'd share a few recent photos.

a bit of rearranging

No rearranging in here, really. But this is the view from the couch in its new location.
The sideboard with its new knobs! The original knobs were long gone and had been replaced with lion heads with pull rings. I ordered some wooden knobs from online...will post link when I find it...for a dollar or so each. Then stained then (finally) and voila!
Here's the living room in its new arrangement. We basically just swapped left and right, but found room to add in the bookcase under the window on the right side.

ganesh is our gangsta

Our cozy Christmas living room.

On the right: Western religious thought represented by a nativity scene.

On the left, a collection of Eastern philosophy...

with a little Western thought for good measure.

Covering all our bases.

more new photos

I went back and added photos to some of the previous entries, but here are the rest of them:

New refrigerator!

Ooh!

Ahh!

His Fatness.

Our quick fix to prevent His Fatness from getting stuck in the chimney. Gecko hardly ever exhibits interest in anything other than his food bowl, but he was very, very interested in the chimney flue. Not sure if he'd actually try to climb up, but it's a given that he'd get stuck ;)

The back room / den. Still looks pretty much like this today. Actually, it's on today's calendar for "To Do."

Front room / living room. Actually looks much better than this right now.
Back room/den again.
Kitchen, partially cleaned and decluttered.
